These aren't my blueberry bushes but I wish they were. You can order some like these here.
It's exhilarating when my rituximab energy kicks in. Friday I took a shower, walked through three stores, and then did some serious battle with the weeds around my blueberry bushes without experiencing one of those face-chilling sweat drenching crashes. Woo hoo!
Of course, much of my walk through the stores was done with an aching back and a numb leg and foot, but still. And I weeded the blueberries by hacking at the largest weeds with a hoe, since bending over and pulling those nasty greens was only aggravating the pain. I took many rest breaks and spent considerable time on the couch with a heating pad soothing my backside.
But.
If I had attempted to do all of those things in one day a month ago, well.......I just wouldn't have. My body simply wasn't capable.
I am incredibly grateful. For increased energy, and for profound discussions, like this one:
John: I'm going to trim that bush.
Me: Oh, no, don't! I planted it to look all wild. I love wild things. Like you.
John: Well, don't be planting ME.
Yessirree. Gardening inspires brilliant dialogue.
