I spend a great deal of time standing in front of my kitchen window. It's one of my most favorite spots in my house. And no, it's not because I really dig washing dishes. Ew.
It's my favorite spot because the kitchen window provides the best view in the house of the foothills of the Cascade mountains.
And, to be perfectly honest, it also offers a great vantage point to view all the comings and goings of my neighbors, whose houses I have cropped from my photos.
At any rate, since I love to look out that window, I have found over the years that this windowsill has also become one of my favorite spots to decorate for the seasons. In the summertime, my flock of flamingos roost here.
At Halloween, I plunk all my black cats on the sill.
And this year, I have decided that it's a great spot to line up my nutcracker collection.
I'm lucky that John doesn't mind lugging around boxes of junk. Er, I mean large containers of valuable seasonal decorations.

Congrats Julia on your savy seasonal decor, and I absolutely love your scenery. It must be peaceful looking out your window and being able to have that view of nature close by.
